My name is Jason Ray.

Having many relatives on the Olympic Peninsula, my fishing career started at a very young age.

I was spoiled and was able to experience several different fisheries the coast has to offer, including salmon and steelhead fishing on the rivers and salmon and bottom fishing out on the saltwater. But my passion for river fishing grew more and more as I was able to spend time on the water with family and friends. During middle and high school I  would spend my summers at a relatives place in Bear Creek. I would fish every day on the sol duc, bogachiel, or calawah rivers catching the summer steelhead and salmon they had to offer. Mowing just enough lawns and splitting and stacking just enough wood to pay for my fishing addiction. At 17 , I worked at Alaska Kingfishers Nushagak River Camp for Bob Kratzer as a Camp Hand. I was flooded with all kinds of new techniques, lures, and information. Those 2 months I will never forget. The day after I graduated in 2010, I moved over to the peninsula and began to guide full time that fall. In 2012, I started guiding for Orca Adventure Lodge in Cordova AK. 2 other guides and I, operate a remote gear and fly fishing camp during the summer.

I feel beyond fortunate to be able to pursue my passion as my occupation, and I look forward to what the future is going to bring.
